Nationals
- Original and copy of a personal identity card (valid, without damage to the plastic or seal, with legible data and photograph).
- Certificate of completion of theoretical and practical training from an agent authorized by the A.T.T.T., certifying that the applicant is fit to drive the type of vehicle corresponding to the application. The expiration of the initiated process is subject to the validity of this certificate (365 days from the date of issue).
- Present results from a laboratory authorized by the Technical Health Council of MINSA, indicating blood type and Rh factor. (Must include the user’s full name, identity card number, with an official seal and fresh signature from the laboratory technician).
- If the first-time application includes Category D (Light trucks up to eight (8) tons and private buses up to sixteen (16) passengers), a negative drug test result from a laboratory authorized by the Technical Health Council of MINSA is required for marijuana and cocaine consumption. This result is valid for six (6) months from the issuance date. (Must include the user’s full name, identity card number, with an official seal and fresh signature from the laboratory technician). (Requirement by Law 146 of April 15, 2020, effective from May 15, 2020).
- Visual, auditory, theoretical, and practical validation must be carried out at the branch office according to the procedure established by the A.T.T.T.

- People with Hearing Disabilities
- Individuals with hearing impairments must present a medical diagnosis issued by an otolaryngologist and an audiometry test no older than six (6) months from the date of issuance. The document must include the full name, identity card or passport number, fresh signature, and official seal of the diagnosing professional and the audiometry test result.
With this documentation, the applicant will be exempt from the auditory validation test.
Note: The SENADIS disability card is not accepted as it is only valid for economic benefits under Law 134 of 2013. The Ministry of Health disability card is also not accepted as it is only valid for medical care within the public health system.
Important:
- Senior citizens, disabled individuals, pensioners, or retirees can request their process in person without an appointment.
- Individuals aged seventy (70) years or older can apply for a driver’s license, which will have a validity of two (2) years. Additionally, they must present a certificate of good physical and mental health issued by an internal medicine or geriatric specialist. This certificate must be no older than six (6) months, including the full name, identity card number, fresh seal, signature of the doctor, and medical specialty.
- If there is an active payment arrangement, the license validity will depend on the clause established with the A.T.T.T.
- Payment must be made at the branch where the process is completed.
- Payments can be made in cash, credit card, or debit card at the ATTT counters within Sertracen branches. Online banking or ATM payments are also accepted once the operator provides the control number for your new transaction (if paying via ATM).
- The names, surnames, and document numbers must match across all submitted requirements. If discrepancies exist, supporting documents will be required for verification, subject to approval.
- All submitted documents must be valid, in good condition, and legible, complying with security standards. (Applies to all requirements).
- Vehicle Requirements for Practical Validation
- The vehicle used for the practical validation must be in good condition with a valid license plate, decal, and sticker.
- Access to vehicles for use in the practical validation area:
- Vehicles labeled by an A.T.T.T.-authorized driving school may only be used by users with a valid certificate for the category matching the vehicle(s) issued by the school.
- Vehicles with an assigned route must have an off-route permit. Only one (1) test per day is allowed per permit.
- Privately owned vehicles may enter once (1) to take the test.
- The issuance of a driver’s license is subject to compliance with traffic regulations and the validity of all requirements at the time of document printing.
- Once the process has begun, it must be completed at the same branch.
- Applicants must not have accumulated more than fifty (50) points on their driving record at the time of application. (Requirement by Law 146 of April 15, 2020, effective from May 15, 2020).
For Foreigners:
- Original and copy of a valid immigration card (not damaged, with a legible seal, data, and photograph). If holding a permanent resident permit (E-card), the original and copy of a valid personal identity card must be presented.
- Original passport according to the nationality stated on the immigration card.
- Certificate of theoretical and practical training course from an agent authorized by A.T.T.T., certifying the applicant is fit to drive the type of vehicle requested. The validity of the initiated process depends on this certificate (365 days from the issuance date).
- Present laboratory results from a laboratory authorized by the Technical Health Council of MINSA indicating blood type and Rh factor. (Must include full name, passport number, or permanent resident number (E-card) for foreigners, with a seal and fresh signature of the lab technician).

Special Cases:
- Hearing-impaired individuals must present a medical diagnosis from an otolaryngologist and an audiometry exam no older than six months. (Must include full name, identity card or passport number, signature, and fresh seal of the issuing professional). With these documents, the hearing validation is not required. SENADIS disability cards or Ministry of Health disability cards are not accepted.

Vehicle Access for Practical Validation:
- Vehicles from authorized driving schools can be used only by applicants with a valid certificate corresponding to the category and vehicles issued by the school.
- Vehicles with assigned routes must have an off-route permit. Only one (1) test per day per permit is allowed.
- Private vehicles can enter once for testing.
- Foreigners with limited immigration status can only apply for Categories A, B, and C.
- For foreigners with temporary residence, the license’s validity is determined by the expiration date of the immigration card or up to four (4) years, whichever comes first.
- Once initiated, the process must be completed at the same branch.
- The applicant must not have accumulated more than fifty (50) points on their driving record at the time of application. (Requirement under Law 146 of April 15, 2020, effective from May 15, 2020).
